WebSphere Portlet Factory 7 – Advance Topics & Concepts
Course Description
Overview

This 2-day instructor-led training is an advance level course presented by IBM and Streebo that is targeted towards users with who have either attended the PF – Technical Fundamentals by Streebo (or an equivalent course) or have gained the knowledge of Portlet Factory and its function and builders.

Designed as a series of labs, this course begins with techniques to identify common usage patterns and converting them into builders. It then dives deep on profiling and dynamic profiling introduced in WebSphere Portlet Factory 7. It also contains an advanced RIA module that introduces attendees to more Dojo builders and different AJAX techniques. It then guides the user on options for integration with various back-end systems, that include Relational Databases, Spreadsheets (Excel & Symphony), Siebel, SAP, PeopleSoft, Domino and Content Management Systems.

The primary objective of Streebo is to ensure that you not only learn the concepts of Portlet Factory but also are completely hands on with it and can actually apply it to your real life business use case scenarios.

Course Objective

To develop a comprehensive understanding of the community of developers, tech leads and architects on IBM’s WebSphere Portlet Factory automation tooling (WPF 7.0) and techniques & best practices on rapid construction of portlets, widgets and J2EE applications for the WebSphere Platform that have rich user interfaces and are readily integrated with services and disparate back-ends.

Key Focus
  • Automating Software Patterns and Construction of Custom Builders
  • Advance Profiling concepts and leveraging profiling to construct smart-phone applications
  • Techniques on Integration with disparate back-ends including relational databases, Web-Services, ERP systems (SAP etc.), Domino, Data Warehouses (Cognos et al) and Content Management Systems (WCM, Filenet etc.)

Streebo’s Training Methodology

At the Streebo Academy – there is no “death by PowerPoint” or please move into a “listen only” mode – rather we keep our participants fully engaged.  Prior to on-boarding you in one of our training class, we will spend some time with you to understand your expectations from the training, review the use-cases you are attempting to solve and the portal solutions that you are trying to build. Once we fully comprehend how you plan to employ this tool we will customize the training message to ensure your success.

Faculty & Instructors

Each faculty member in our Academy has over a decade of experience in WebSphere Portal development. Many of our top faculty members work closely with IBM engineering and Lab Services teams to develop Factory based automated solutions and build courseware and certifications related to products and offerings around IBM’s Factory technology. All our instructors bring real-world experience to their workshops and classes - this makes the training fun and gives learning a whole new meaning.

Prerequisites
